"Tumbao Cuba?ao" was initiated by Igort Rivas Comas and Arnell Salsbach, both musicians residing in Cura?ao. Tumbao Cuba?ao is a musical project in which the initiators joined forces with other musicians to perform original musical compositions and arrangements by the two initiators mentioned above. Both musicians felt the need to produce music where they could express their feelings and showcase their talent and at the same time fuse Cuban and Cura?aoan music in new compositions and arrangements. This first presentation on CD of the music of TUMBAO CUBA?AO expresses the friendship of a group of musicians who mainly have their cultural roots in the Caribbean islands Cura?ao and Cuba. Along with their regular work they have met on several occasions and they shared the same desire in creating the music that lead to the great joy of recording the CD with the same. Most of the songs presented in TUMBAO CUBA?AO are their own compositions and express, each in their own different feel, the mood and intention that spontaneously brought their musical thoughts on to the designing board.
