Tight bass-heavy funk from Slave - still working here in that excellent compressed style that was their unique contribution to soul music - possibly the best album ever by the Ohio funky soul combo They may be be handling the vocals with just a bit more focus and care on Just A Touch Of Love than on other albums - which takes to all to a more soulful level, but doesn't spare on the strength of the grooves one bit. They also point the way towards the more club soul styled approach to come in the 80s, but do so firmly grounded in simmering 70s funk. Excellence
